Company Profile

KBM Group of Engineering Concerns is an organisation in construction industry for the more than 50 years. The organisation came into existence in 1946 and since then it has successfully completed construction of various industrial complexes, R.C.C. and prestressed concrete bridges, overhead and underground water tanks, R.C.C. towers/chimneys, natural draught cooling towers and various other structures for many a reputed organisations/consultants.

The KBM Engineering Research Laboratory was started by The Group in the year 1973, at the time when awareness for testing of soil with a view to select appropriate foundations for structures was just developed in clients, consultants and architects, when Gujarat Engineering Research Institute of Government of Gujarat in Vadodara was perhaps, the only one in Gujarat, fully engaged in Government projects and also when laboratory establishments in Mumbai were to be involved costing much time and money.

KBM Engineering Research Laboratory not only fulfilled the need for a systematic laboratory but also contributed to cultivate the appreciation as also comprehension for different types of testing. The laboratory is also proud of assisting consultants and designers to select type, size and depth of foundation appropriate to the structures in relation with the soil strata at the site of works.

The Laboratory has diversified its activities to underground hydrological aspects of ground water. It also helps in establishing appropriate sub soil aquifers for tube wells and radial collector wells (French wells).

Besides this the Laboratory also undertakes Physical Testing of Building Materials, Design of Concrete Mixes having compressive strength from 15 N/mm2 to 55 N/mm2 at 28 days and also offers its services for control and evaluation of concrete quality at site.

The Laboratory is the first in Gujarat to develop Non-Destructive Testing using combined Rebound Hammer and Ultrasonic Pulse Method. The Laboratory also undertakes complete NDT on existing structures and provide useful and timely information for due action for rehabilitation.

Till date our laboratory has carried out more than 1300 Geotechnical Projects and 200 NDT Projects.
